Win It! Mumi & Bubi Solid Starter Kit

This week we are giving away a Mumi & Bubi Solid Starter Kit. I love, love, love this product!! Here is why.

A representative from Mumi & Bubi contacted me about 2 months ago about this product. She knew that we were about to start solids with Baby Mo and wanted me to know about this product, originally from New Zealand, just about to launch in the U.S.

I had just started to make Baby Mo's food using my trusty Beaba Babycook. I was freezing the servings in an ice cube tray that I picked up at Target. This is a good system, but by no means a great system. I had to use a butter knife to get the frozen servings out of the trays, which proved to be treaturous on my poor hands. Also, I had no assurance that the trays were BPA free.

Mumi & Bubi to the rescue! These BPA-free trays make it easy to spread the homemade food evenly and once the food is frozen, it slides out effortlessly so I can store it in freezer bags. The trays stack easily and take up almost no room at all in my already-packed freezer and they are dishwasher safe for easy clean up.

This Starter Kit costs $29.95, or free if you enter and win our contest! I know I am being overly-enthusiastic but I really do just love this product to pieces.

Recently a woman in her 50s told me how she used to make her own babyfood: with an old-fashioned food mill and glass jars to store her food. No thanks! Making your own baby food can be a really rewarding experience but you have to take the help where you need it. The Mumi & Bubi coupled with the Beaba make the babyfood-making mommy's life so much easier.

Here is how to win this product:

Like MommyBeta on Facebook

Tell us in the comment section (of this blog post, not on Facebook) if you plan to, do or did make your own baby food and why

And if you love Mumi & Bubi too, like them on Facebook (not required for entry)

The contest ends on Thursday, March 3, at 11:59 pm EST. The winner will be announced on Friday. Click here for complete terms, rules and regulations.

Thank you to Mumi & Bubi for being so generous with Mommy Beta. Good luck to all of you homemade baby fooders!

I make my own baby food. When I heard that store-bought baby food has a shelf life of 2 years, I just felt like that was not natural and that I could do better for my baby.

Woah! I hadn't heard that before! 2 years!!!?

I didn't make food with my first and he's now a picky eater. I'm planning to make my own with my second and see if homemade makes a difference.

I'm not a mommy yet but in the almost year of trying I have found that I have been able to research and plan more than if we had gotten pregnant right away. I do plan on making my own food not only for cost but because I really don't want to give my child food that I don't really know where it came from. Plus the research that I've read really speaks to the benefits for future eating ie. more adventurous eaters, less picky eaters, and healthier weight. Thanks also to the mommy beta moms for inspiring me to try cloth diapers when we have our baby in the future.

I make my own baby food - from cereal to fruits and veggies! Homemade is the best in nutrition in my opinion.

I am not yet making my own baby food, but I plan to (my baby hasn't arrived just yet). It simply looks much tastier. It's an opportunity to provide food for her that will not be adulterated with unnecessary chemicals and preservatives! Plus, the options for what I can make are endless!
Also, because of MommyBeta, I added the starter kit to my Amazon Baby Registry a little while back...it would be like a baby shower present from you guys (especially since my shower is on March 5th)!

as i'm reading this post, i just fought (and won) the battle of getting my sweet potatoes out of the ice cube trays (ironically, from target!). this looks like an awesome product - i can't imagine what i could possibly do with the time i'd save not wrestling my baby boy's food out of the trays!

I liked MommyBeta on FB.

I did not make my own baby food with my two previous children. I also did not cloth diaper. This time around I am cloth diapering (and loving it!) and plan to make my own baby food. I feel it is a better choice because who really knows what goes into jarred baby food. I can control what is in the food and expose her to new tastes and textures and healthier eating. I am approaching the 4 month old mark and can't wait to get started! I would love to win this product!!!

I make my daughter, Abigail's baby food. Abigail was born at 24 weeks gestation...that is 16 weeks early. She has overcome INCREDIBLE odds. But one of the biggest problems she had during her 3 month stay in the NICU had to do with her digestive system. 9 months later and we are STILL dealing with the repercussions of that. Her doctors and therapists have told us that making her food by hand, ensuring that there is NOTHING in it that could harm her system further, is the the best thing we can do for her. So I do it. With my pots and pans, my magic bullet, and (like you) my ice cube trays.
I read about your Beaba BabyCook, and loved it! Their products are amazing! But pricey. And we are still recovering from over a million dollars worth of medical bills. So I would LOVE to win any product that would help me make my daughter's food easier - because I'll do anything that will help my little miracle. Thanks for hosting such a great giveaway!

We are planning on making our own food! We just need to start researching the process (processing, freezing, ect.)! :)

My wife and I are considering making some of our own food for our third. We have just started rice cereal and I thought it wouldn't be too hard to do our own vegetables and fruits. - Also liked the blog on fb.

I want to make my own food when the baby is old enough. I'm already bookmarking good sites with recipes!

I like MB on FB!

I've made all of my son's food so far (aside from enriched cereals). It's so rewarding! I love the fact that my carrot baby food is the color of actual carrots, and not brown like in the jars. Looking forward to summer and being able to take advantage of all the great locally grown produce our area has to offer. We'd love something better than ice cube trays to help us out!

While we don't have a baby to feed yet - when we do, I will definitely make the baby food! You all have inspired me!

February 27, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterHeather G.

I definitely plan on making my 6 month old his own baby food. I did with my now 2 1/2 year old, and my mom did for me. I'm always looking for new/better ways to prepare and store. This looks like a great item, and I'd love to try it out!

February 28, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterLindsey Beasley

I plan on making our own baby food. Hopefully that starts this week! Now to decide on what to make... :)

February 28, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterTrisha

I want to make my child's food because it's a good way to make certain you know what's going in it. I can make it natural and save money as well!

February 28, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSpencer

It’s been years since I had to make any baby food, but I know someone that will be thinking about it shortly. I just accepted the 03/17 invitation to the baby shower, and it would be great if I won this for Nina and her new family. I will spread the word to all her friends on FB about your blog and see if they can help win this for her.

Now that we have our second daughter (born 2/5/11 yay!), we'd like to explore making our own food for her.

With our first daughter (21 months old), we purchased solids from the store.

We hope this will be a more cost effective solution.

I started making babyfood when my now 4 year old was first starting solids. It just seemed like the natural thing to do. I want what's best for my little ones and making their food myself is what's best. I know exactly what goes into it, so I don't have to worry what kind of preservatives is going into their perfect little bodies.

I'm currently making babyfood for my 9 month old. I cook everything in big batches using a food processor and ice cube trays. I would love to try this system because, like you said, it's BPA free and looks to store nice and compact.

Thanks for hosting this giveaway!
