Slobber-proof your iPhone

Fisher-PriceMy eyes lit up when I stumbled across Fisher-Price's Laugh & Learn™ Apptivity™ Case that is set to hit stores this month. It's a toy that protects your iphone from your baby and gives them the freedom to play and explore. It has little handles so they can easily hold the device The handles have little rings for playing or chewing. The best part? Slobber protection! Should all devices come with this these days? I know one MommyBeta has lost a phone to the stuff. I also found out through perusing online that it also covers up the home button which keeps the babies from hitting it, thus closing the app.

This thing will retail for $14.99 - very fair price! I'll def pick one of these up. Oh, and if you weren't aware, Fisher-Price has some really fun and free iPhone apps available for download for babies 6 months and up.

Happy National Baby Food Week!

Happy National Baby Food Week! That’s right. This week we’re paying homage to all those hours slaving in the kitchen for the hardest food critics around: our children. The nice folks at Krups gave us the heads up on this weekly celebration and also shared a little info on their immersion blender which I must say I am eyeing enviously. I have an immersion blender – an expensive one that is terrible! I really should toss it and buy this baby. Immersion blenders are the best for baby food purees because you can puree right in the bowl or pan, and they work great for smaller batches too that don’t get as creamy in a regular blender.

I watched Tyler Florence demo a few recipes from his cookbook recently and he recommended the blender over a food processor when making baby food. I personally think it’s smart to have both the traditional and immersion blender. I love using the immersion for soups and sauces for my grown up food.

What’s on your menu this week and what do you use to make your baby food?

Vote for Jennifer!

Jennifer is a finalist on Babble in a contest to win an iPad2! Vote here!

Jennifer's wonderful husband Tom entered her in this contest with this very sweet entry about what an amazing mother, wife, and professional she is. I coulnd't agree more! Baby Beth is lucky to have Jennifer as her mommy!

The iPad 2 is not just for Jennifer. Babies love iPads! Baby Mo sure does! If you have an iPad and are a parent, check out Magic Piano, the Dr. Seuss games and books, and Simon Says. Baby Mo loves these and we are especially excited about the upcoming Crayola Color Studio HD!

But I digress. The point of this post is to vote for Jennifer so Baby Beth can play these games too! And maybe FaceTime chat with Baby Mo!
