2012 Mommy Resolutions
My resolutions last year were pretty straightforward. Did I make all of them? Well, no, but the point is to try to accomplish them and make me re-focus on things that I know are important. So, I think I’ll keep them up.
My resolutions this year? Well, as a first-time mommy I’ve made my fair share of mistakes and I know I will continue to make them but I can resolve to do my best to best mommy that I can be, right? So, here are my 2012 resolutions.
Don’t lock my daughter in our car with the keys in it. There, I’ve said it. I have accidentally locked our little girl in the car with the keys in it not once, but twice. Thank god for AAA and the fact that the weather was cool. Tip for new mommies: do not let your child play with your keys no matter how much they squawk at being put in the car seat.
Somehow give my daughter protein and an adequate dosage of fruit/veggies/dairy daily in between all the cookies, crackers and cheese puffs.
Avoid BPA as much as we can.
Wash our own and my daughter’s sheets weekly. This article explains it all. I hate wrestling with the crib to get the sheets off but that’s no excuse. A facebook fan, Damian N Gabrielle, had a great tip. Designate a certain day to be sheet day so it’s easy to remember.
Stop worrying so much. Seriously, I never thought I was a worrier but now that I’m a mom, I feel like I have to actively make myself not worry about things. I worry about my daughter’s health, when will I find the time to get all my work done, is my daughter getting enough social activities, is there BPA in this product, does that have too much sugar/salt for her. UGH! Enough already. I’m resolving to give myself a time out from worrying and just enjoy life.
Ugh, I feel better after getting that off my chest. What are you resolving?

I've locked Nic in the car too. It's terrifying! And with him being a newly picky eater, I definitely identify with the nutrition one!
If you hate wrestling with the crib sheet and don't mind plain bedding you should look into sheets by clouds and stars. The fitted sheet zips on on off in seconds. I've had them since my son was born and absoluletly love them. He'll be going into a bed soon and I'll be getting a set for that bed too. They are perfect for routine cleanings but a lifesaver when your child gets sick in the middle of the night. We are not at this stage yet but I can see these sheets coming in handy for any bed wetting accidents too. I wish they made them in a king size, I'd wash my sheets more often for sure!
And the worst thing is they both have convertibles. :)
My resolution is to take better care of myself. I had the privilege of meeting olympic runner Jeff Galloway here at Walt Disney World this Wednesday, and he assured me that even I could start running with no pain or injury by following his plan.
