Win It: CaringBridge Onesie and Friendly Frog

This week we are giving away a onesie (in the size of your choosing) and stuffed frog, courtesy of CaringBridge. This is a non-profit organization that is near and dear to us MommyBetas.

Earlier this year, we lost a friend of ours to a rare form of cancer. Her name was Maggie and he was only 29 years old. She was one of those rare people who you meet and love immediately. She was kind and funny and magnetic. Her passing has left a hole.

Maggie kept up with her friends over CaringBridge. It is a social network of sorts where people with serious illnesses can connect with friends and family. Maggie and her family used it to let us all know how she was doing as she endured treatment after treatment. It meant a lot for her to be able to express herself to those who cared about her without having to tell her story over and over again to concerned loved ones.

CaringBridge is a really great service that I think we should all know about, and hopefully never really need. The site runs on donations so the more we can help spread awareness, the better. Even if you don't ever visit CaringBridge, please consider keeping those that need it in your thoughts this holiday season.

This onesie is good karma baby clothes and so is the adorable stuffed frog. Win it for the little one in your life by entering the contest below.

Win it: $100 Gift Card to Safeway, VONS, Randalls and more

This week we are giving away $100 worth in gift cards that can be used at Safeway, Vons, Genuardi’s, Carr’s, Tom Thumb, Dominick’s and Randalls. A big thanks to Safeway for the gift cards.

A friendly PR rep from Safeway reached out to us to introduce Safeway’s mom to mom® line of diapers and training pants - making improvements based on the advice of real moms. (They also have formula which Jennifer tried and Beth liked.)

I guess I’ve never really considered buying diapers from a grocery store on a regular basis aside from when I’m traveling. But, Jennifer and I (non-cloth diaper users) decided to give them a try. We both use Pampers®Swaddlers Sensitive diapers on Reese and Beth so we were curious to find out how the mom to mom diapers would stack up. Here is what we found.

Oh so soft. They are super duper soft and include a soft hypoallergenic liner with aloe, vitamin E, and organic botanicals.

Ultra absorbent. The mom to mom diapers have an ultra absorbent core, so I could quickly tell when Reese needed a diaper change because it looked like she had a big poop hanging out. Not appealing to the eye but it was easy to tell when she needed a diaper change.

Great for overnight. I use Huggies Overnights diapers and to put mom to mom diapers to the test I used one on Reese for night time use. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Reese had not leaked through her diaper in the morning. Way to go mom to mom diapers!

So would we recommend Mom to Mom diapers? Absolutely!

These Diapers can be purchased at Safeway, Vons, Genuardi’s, Carr’s, Tom Thumb, Dominick’s and Randalls.

To enter to win a $100 gift card (to buy your very one mom to mom products or on what ever else you'd like, click here and follow the instructions at the end of the post.

Win it! Tyler Florence’s Newest Cookbook, "Start Fresh: Your Child’s Jump Start to Lifelong Healthy Eating"

If you’re like me, you’re always on the hunt for healthy, yummy recipes that both you and your children can enjoy. Of course, my daughter is just at this stage but I wanted her food to be a little more interesting than just steamed peas from the start so I was excited to learn about Tyler Florence’s latest cookbook, "Start Fresh: Your Child's Jumpstart to Healthy Eating" that was developed for babies, toddlers, bigger kids and the whole family to enjoy.

I was lucky enough to see Tyler demo of a few recipes at his store in Mill Valley. We tried the carrot, apple and mango puree which Elle loved. I also got to try the one pan lasagna and it was delish!  Definitely a crowd pleaser. Tyler is a father himself and it was upon entering this new role that he realized that there wasn’t much in the way for healthy offerings for babies and kids which is why he wrote the book along with his new line of baby food, Sprout. The big reason he created the book was because he wanted to help parents get their kids started on healthy food right from the start, or at least try.

I’ve tried a couple of the recipes and have liked the results. Some favorites include a “Green Bean,One Pan Lasagna Potato and Kale Puree.” Kale, potatoes and green beans are boiled in chicken stock, then pureed with olive oil and parmesan cheese. It was really good. We recently had a “whole family” meal that we all loved. It’s chicken with white rice, broccoli, carrots and peas. My hubby made it in and it was mmm, mmm good! Could have this one on a weekly basis!

Tyler Florence is giving two lucky readers a chance to win one of his cookbooks. Here’s how to enter:

Win it! Epson All-in-One Printer

UPDATE: Congratulations to Bonnie P. for winning this printer! Check our our current giveaways here

This week we’re giving away an Epson Stylus NX515 all-in-one printer. How is this mommy, baby or daddy related? Who doesn’t like to print photos of their kids? I’ve used an Epson printer for the past two years and really like it. I bought a “Grandma’s” keepsake photo album and I’ve been meaning to print some photos of Reese to send to her Great Grandma Barbara.

If you don’t have a printer or need a new one, then here ya go!

With the Epson Stylus you can:

  •  Print, scan, and copy
  • Print photos from your PC or simply insert your memory card and print borderless photos with one touch! Also, Epson's instant-dry ink provides beautiful photos that are smudge, fade and water-resistant.  (This is awesome!)
  • Share one printer with multiple PCs, wired or wirelessly; print, scan and share memory card files between your PC and printer, wirelessly with Wi-Fi and Ethernet built in

I like that you have the ability to also send photos and other documents as an email attachment pretty easily.

The printer originally retailed for $149.99 but compliments of Epson, one lucky reader will win a printer.

 To enter:

  • Like us on Facebook
  • Post a comment in the comments section of this post (not on Facebook) about why a new printer would be most useful for you.
  • NOTE: you must leave your email when you comment. It will be kept private and not shared with anyone. We need it to alert the winner. Entries without emails will be disqualified.
